The Evolving Project: 75 Years of the Journal of Architectural Education
Over its seventy-five-year history, the Journal of Architectural Education has documented nothing less than the evolution of the discipline. In the decades following World War II, the idea of an architecture school has evolved from a professional training ground to an intellectual platform allowing educators to engage the larger social, cultural, and political issues of the time. This panel brings together past, current, and future executive editors of the journal to reflect on changes in architectural education, and to speculate on its possible futures. The panel also launches the book, The Evolving Project: The Journal of Architectural Education and the Expansion of Scholarship, which recontextualizes and republishes fifty essays around the themes of research, environment, pedagogy, and politics.
