Submission Deadline and Notification: Individuals are invited to submit on or before May 1, 2023. Accepted authors will be notified no later than May 15, 2023. Chapter guidelines and additional information regarding final chapter submission will be sent along with acceptance notification.

Anticipated Release Date: This publication is anticipated to be released in 2024.

Format:
14-chapter book; Chapters will include an Intro/Overview, Content, and Example(s)/Alert(s). Example(s)/Alert(s) can be in the form of anecdotes, short narratives, real case studies, exercises, or discussion questions that encourage critical thinking about desirable strategies for equitable and inclusive design as they relate to the chapter topics. Chapters will be written in APA format, at a word count of 3500-5000, and 4-5 illustrations in the form of photographs, diagrams, boxes with definitions of terms, or any other form of visual aid that will help supplement the topic. Copyrighted images or other materials are not recommended.

Chapter Topics:
Considerations for the design of healthcare facilities across multiple scales – Description: This chapter will give the reader an overview of the infrastructure needed to support a variety of healthcare settings. Examples of this infrastructure include but are not limited to lighting systems, HVAC systems, telephone, internet, water, and waste-water systems. This chapter will also include information about life safety systems, security, and alternative energy sources for healthcare spaces during power failures.

Innovations in Healthcare Delivery and Settings – Description: This chapter will give the reader an overview of emerging technological strategies for healthcare delivery and new frontiers in healthcare settings. This could include healthcare innovations such as robotics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and healthcare delivery in space.

Submission Requirements:
Interested individuals should submit a CV outlining expertise on the requested chapter topics and a minimum 500-word writing sample to either of the contact emails above.
