Assistant or Associate Professor in Architecture

 

Position

Louisiana Tech University’s School of Design is hiring an Assistant or Associate Professor in Architecture, with tenure-track or tenured status, starting in September 2024, pending budget approval. The ideal candidate will primarily teach foundational and upper-level undergraduate and graduate design studios, with additional expertise in courses like digital media and representation, architectural history and theory, computational design and digital fabrication, tectonic assemblies, and integrated design practices. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in these areas, along with a strong commitment to rigorous design research and innovative teaching methods. Besides teaching, responsibilities include student advising, committee participation, and university service.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should hold a terminal degree in architecture (M. Arch or equivalent) or a doctorate in architecture or related fields, with potential in research and/or creative pursuits. Professional licensure in the United States or its international equivalent is a plus. We welcome applicants with interdisciplinary research interests, digital tool proficiency, and a proven record of teaching excellence.

Institutional Background

The Architecture Program is part of the School of Design and the College of Liberal Arts, offering a pre-professional Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies degree and a NAAB-accredited professional Master of Architecture degree. Our program emphasizes hands-on experiences and critical thinking to prepare architects for professional practice.
