Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the assistant professor rank for the 2024-2025 academic year. Opportunities include:

Tenure Track positions come with the expectation for faculty to contribute to the triad of teaching, outreach, and research, however the University’s primary area of tenure assessment lies in the production of peer-reviewed scholarship and/or funded research knowledge production. The school seeks faculty who are passionate about Architecture in relation to their field of expertise and demonstrate a commitment to sharing this enthusiasm and knowledge with the students through teaching. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the overall learning environment in the school by attending school-wide lectures, reviewing student work, and participating in faculty meetings and other shared communal curricular endeavors. These positions are based at Virginia Tech’s campus in Blacksburg, Virginia and are full-time nine-month appointments with an anticipated start date of August 2024.
The School of Architecture emphasizes learning through making as well as experimentation, plus disciplinary and professional engagement combined with cross-disciplinary outreach to develop future architects and designers who will holistically integrate diverse ideas while adeptly responding to constantly shifting design challenges within the profession of architecture.
