Memphis Walks represents an interdisciplinary, community-engaged effort to enhance health throughre-envisioning the built environment. With the goalof increasing walkability in urban neighborhoods,Memphis Walks addresses many social determinantsdetrimental to health: crime, inadequate outdoorlighting, deteriorating sidewalks and crosswalks,dangerous traffic patterns, inadequate access tohealth care, and lack of walkable destinations.
