This paper describes two pedagogical models for architectural studio courses, appropriate for undergraduate and graduate level studios. The fi rst model, Shift ing Allegiances, asks students to take responsibility for leadership of disti nct issues, and the second pedagogy, Trading Projects, asks students to exchange ownership of projects several ti mes over the course of the semester.
