In order to make room for new sets of knowledge, the essay attributes significance to Donna Haraway’s “situated knowledge”, which underscore local embodiment. Moreover, Gloria Anzaldúa’s “haciendo teorías” as it discusses the need to “de-academize theory and to connect the community to the academy.” Lastly, Jane Jacobs and Jan Gehl concept of space as a site for further understanding of subgroups where it is vital that we occupy the theorizing space with new approaches and methodologies.
