Fall Conference Proceedings

Author(s): Joseph Altshuler & Julia Sedlock

As a world within a world, sports fields demand that occupants alter their makeup—both cognitively and cosmeti cally—in order to make meaning and pleasure out of its constructed territories and team affi liations. This paper explores how those territories and “teams” might engage augmented interactions with context, rules, otherness, and a relationship to the ground. In the process, we might understand ourselves, nonhuman people, and built things as companion creatures participating in a shared game brimming with treats.
