This project is an interactive art installationthat explores the possibilities of real-timeadaptation in design, materiality, and form.Using contemporary digital technologies, thisdesign blurs the boundaries between designerand user. Employing a flexible mesh and atessellated fabrication method, ROBOBBLEallows audiences to modify the installation’soverall geometry, using basic methods of digitalmodeling such as push, pull, and soft-transformations.Audience members who interactwith ROBOBBLE are able to create customizedsculpted forms through the use of a simpleSmartphone application, and to see the realtimeresults in physical space. The sculptureconstantly changes based on different audiencemembers’ taste and input.
