Production of the drawing took place over nine days, requiring nearly 200 hours tocomplete. Most of the time was spent in complete solitude, stopping only to use thebathroom, eat, and rest fatigued muscles. Financially the piece required a fifteendollar investment in Sharpie® Permanent Markers. No compensation for the timerequired to carry out the work was billed to the University of Michigan. At the closingof the exhibition, two months after the drawing’s completion, it was painted over, permanently buried into the surface of the wall.
