Call for Nominations for JAE Associate Editor: Social Media

JOURNAL OF ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION

Call for Nominations for JAE Associate Editor: Social Media

DEADLINE: JANUARY 15, 2022

The Journal of Architectural Education (JAE) seeks nominations and self-nominations for an Associate Editor: Social Media. Founded in 1947, JAE is published twice a year by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). It is the primary venue for peer-reviewed research and commentary on architectural education and has been for 75 years. With this call, we seek a creative individual with a passion for social media to collaborate with JAE editors, ACSA staff, and JAE’s publishing partner, Taylor & Francis, on engaging architecture communities across social media platforms.

The JAE sees our digital and social media platforms as a meaningful space to engage with our readers and authors—academics, students, professionals, and the wider public—and to engage with other journals, publications, and publishing platforms. The Associate Editor: Social Media will plan and create content aligned with the publication of print issues, online articles, calls for submissions, and related journal activities. They will plan and execute social media campaigns across social media platforms (JAE’s website, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn) that build awareness of JAE content, serve as a bridge between authors and readers, and facilitate networking between readers at all stages of their careers.

The Associate Editor: Social Media will be an active member of the Editorial Board, formally appointed by the ACSA Board of Directors for a three-year term, and will receive an annual $4,000 stipend. The position should require 5 hours per week. An ongoing engagement with architectural discourse is assumed to be part of the expertise of the Associate Editor: Social Media and not included in the estimated time commitment. As an active member of the Editorial Board, the Associate Editor: Social Media must attend two editorial board meetings per year and secure support from their institution to fund this biannual travel and lodging.

Faculty in architecture or a related discipline, at any rank, may apply. Please send the following in one PDF to Danielle Dent at  ddent@acsa-arch.org – (1) a cover letter addressing your interest in the role and relevant experience, and describing how your past/current work would contribute to JAE’s commitment to justice, equity, and inclusion, (2) a 3-page (max.) curriculum vitae, and (3) links to existing social media sites and/or online sites that support your application.
