IE School of Architecture & Design invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in architecture and design, with a focus on material innovation through experimental, computational, or performance-driven methods. The ideal candidate operates at the intersection of design, environmental systems, and material science, engaging in research that responds to planetary challenges through innovation in material sourcing, fabrication, industrialized construction, and lifecycle thinking.

We seek a highly motivated individual with expertise in areas such as material prototyping, digital fabrication with natural composites, lifecycle assessment, or material systems for regenerative design. A strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and environmentally engaged design education is essential.

Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in architecture and design, supervise student projects, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to the development of the design and architecture curriculum and to the evolution of fabrication and materials laboratories and facilities.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a relevant field, or advanced stage in obtaining the doctorate.
  • Relevant expertise and experience.
  • Research and publications in relevant disciplines.
  • University-level teaching experience, including course development and student mentorship.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Spanish desirable.
