Open Rank (Tenured or Tenure Track) Professor of Building Technology, Climate, Sustainability, and Health in the Built Environment

The School of Architecture in the College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University in Boston announces two searches for open-rank, tenured or tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels in building technology in relationship to issues of climatology, sustainability, and health in the built environment. For at least one of these faculty positions, we seek candidates qualified for a joint appointment in the College of Engineering with a particular focus on urban, coastal, geological, and ecological resilience.

We seek candidates whose research and teaching engage with one or more of the following or related themes: impact of changing climatological conditions on the built environment; urban planning and landscape architecture scales of resilience; climate responsive and regenerative architecture, urbanism, and infrastructure; integration of life cycle, embodied energy, and embodied carbon analyses into design processes, material production, and construction logics and logistics; advanced material and fabrication research and practices; integration and synergies of data, informatics, and the built environment; innovative energy and environmental systems for health and wellbeing from architectural to urban scales. We have a particular interest in candidates with a record of professional practice or other industrial engagement.
