Louisiana Tech University

The School of Design at Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates to fill two tenure-track positions at the rank of assistant professor, beginning September 2026 (pending budgetary approval).

Primary teaching responsibilities include foundation and upper-level undergraduate and graduate design studios. We are particularly interested in candidates with a cross-disciplinary outlook who can incorporate contemporary digital tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit into both teaching and scholarship. Applicants should demonstrate strong performance in the design studio and in seminar, lecture, or lab courses.

Areas of emphasis may include: design-build and fabrication, building systems and technology, architectural history and theory, digital and computational design, urbanism and landscape, professional practice, and the full range of foundational and advanced design studios.

Candidates must hold a professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) and show clear potential to advance a focused agenda of research and/or creative work. Previous teaching and professional practice experience are required; professional licensure or a Ph.D. is preferred.

Institutional Background

The Architecture Program is an academic unit within the School of Design and the College of Liberal Arts. The program offers a pre-professional B.S. in Architectural Studies degree, and a NAAB-accredited professional Master of Architecture degree. The program is committed to providing a comprehensive and uncompromising, balanced and demanding education in the art, craft, and practice of ethical building through the polytechnic tradition of “hands-on” experiences and empirical learning that prepares an individual to be an architect in the fullest sense of the term.
