Assistant Professor of Architecture (Full-time Term Appointment, Non-Tenure-track)

The Master of Architecture program at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently accepting applications for a full-time, term appointment Assistant Professor of Architecture to teach design studios and courses on building systems integration, structures, environmental systems, and/or design communication. The term of the appointment is for the 2021-2022 academic year, with the possibility of renewal.

Required Education:

Master of Architecture degree from a NAAB-accredited (or recognized equivalent) college or university.

Required Work Experience:

Experience teaching (beyond Graduate Assistant/Teaching Assistant) in a NAAB-accredited architecture program.

Professional architectural practice experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated proficiency in architectural design.

Demonstrated proficiency in current architectural presentation techniques.

Demonstrated visual, written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years teaching experience (beyond Graduate Assistant/Teaching Assistant) in a NAAB-accredited architecture program.

Post-professional master’s degree or Ph.D. in architecture or a closely related field

U.S. architectural license.

Three years of professional architectural practice experience.

Architectural curriculum development experience.

Research and teaching focus in building systems integration, structures, and/or environmental systems.
