Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Architecture

 

The School of Design + Construction (SDC) at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for a full-time, career-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice.  The successful candidate will bring a substantial background in professional practice to the program and will be expected to teach courses central to the architecture core curriculum at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.  Ability to conduct research and scholarly activities in a defined area of interest is beneficial but not required.

We seek candidates who bring depth and breadth of leading-edge, practice-oriented knowledge and expertise with the capacity to translate this into transformational teaching and learning opportunities for students in our undergraduate and NAAB accredited professional graduate program. The successful candidate will teach studio, seminar, and/or lecture courses central to the architecture core curriculum.  Candidates with the ability to contribute to teaching in Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, and/or Construction Management via interdisciplinary courses across the curricula are encouraged to apply.

The architecture program seeks candidates with a record of professional architectural work that is innovative and inquiry-driven; recognized as meritorious through peer-evaluated awards, publications, and other distinctions demonstrating excellence; engages 21st century challenges and opportunities; and/or leverages emergent methods and/or tools to meet objectives.
