ACSA SEEKS SUMMER COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

By designing and creating the world, architects and designers make an impact on communities across the globe. Learning how to do that starts in architecture school. At the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), our mission is to lead architectural education and research to make the built environment better.

ABOUT US

We represent more than 7,000 architecture school faculty in our international membership association who have a lot to say, to publish, and to post. Therefore, we are looking for a Summer Intern to work remotely, or a few days a month in our office, on social media and communications projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Communications Intern, you will engage with multiple brands associated with ACSA’s endeavors, such as StudyArchitecture.com, #IMadeThat on Instagram, scholarly publications, and ACSA’s member communications. Your role will involve learning and executing communications and marketing workflows, creating content for ACSA media channels, translating complex content for broader audiences, and contributing to strategic information for marketing campaigns. Additionally, you may be assigned various tasks to broaden your skill set.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Individuals enrolled in a higher education degree program who will have completed at least one semester by the end of June 2024.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote professional office setting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills for managing multiple assignments.
  • Flexible, responsive, and willing to learn in a virtual environment.
  • Experience with word processing and PDF software required; experience with spreadsheets and/or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Familiarity or experience with architecture, design, and related fields is a plus.

OTHER DETAILS

Schedule

Up to 37.5 hours per week, spanning 6 to 8 weeks between approximately May 20 and August 15. Candidates do not need to be in the Washington, DC, area. However, if the selected intern is local to our office, you can work on a hybrid basis.

Compensation

The pay range is the equivalent of $17.50–$20 per hour based on experience. You will be paid as a 1099 contractor with a defined scope of work and compensation plan outlined in an appointment letter. ACSA will not provide any benefits or remit taxes. Unfortunately, ACSA cannot provide support for relocation or housing.

Computer

You must have access to your own internet connection and a computer capable of running Adobe Creative Suite applications. ACSA will provide access to software.

How to Apply

Send a cover letter and résumé to personnel@acsa-arch.org with the subject line “Summer Intern” no later than February 19, 2024. In the cover letter, please describe your interest in the position and in architecture and design and/or higher education.
