The paper intends to reflect on the developmental trajectory of a research project that explores a dialogue between industrial Spanish modernist tilemaking and new approaches to fabrication through the emergence of new technologies. The juxtaposition of these two methods of production became the catalyst for the subsequent experimental technique that hybridizes hand-made, industrial hand-made and digital hand-made under the rubric of crafting expression through material technologies and hydraulic cement.
