ACSA Announces 2023 Election Slate; Petition Period Open

2023 Election Slate

Petition Period Closes: December 23, 2022

The ACSA Board approved a preliminary slate of candidates for the 2023 Election to the board at its November 5-6 meeting.

On behalf of the ACSA Board, we would like to acknowledge this year’s slate includes six male candidates. This was not the intended outcome of a process that involved a public call for nominations and efforts by the board and Nominations Committee to encourage faculty from a range of backgrounds to apply. We balance a number of characteristics in putting forth a board slate, including gender, race, ethnicity, region, school type, school size, sexual orientation, as well as work and volunteer experience. We discussed more than a dozen applications for these positions. Note that the current board consists of nine women and three men, with two women and one man rotating off the board.

             – Sharon Haar, President; Robert González, Past President; Mo Zell, First Vice                  President/President-Elect; Cathi Ho Schar, Second Vice President

In accordance with our election procedures, ACSA members have the opportunity to petition to add candidates to the slate, following the procedures outlined below. The petition period closes on December 23, 2022, at 5 pm Pacific time. The final slate of candidates and election materials are scheduled for release on January 6, 2023. All ACSA Full members are eligible to vote on all positions. The results of this election will be announced publicly online soon after the February 8, 2023, ballot deadline, and introduced at the 2023 ACSA Annual Business Meeting.
