The School of Design at Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates to fillone or more tenure-track teaching positions at the rank of assistant professor, beginning September 2019 (pending budgetary approval). Primary teaching responsibilities will include instruction inboth foundation and upper-level undergraduate/graduate design studios. Additional consideration will be given for the ability to teach support coursework in architectural history & theory, digital fabrication, tectonic assemblies, and integrated design. Additional responsibilities will include advising students, serving on departmental and school committees, and engage in related university service and outreach.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates must have a professional degree in architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch) and demonstrate the potential for executing an agenda of research and/or creative work. Previous teaching and professional practice experience are required; professional licensure or a Ph.D. is preferred. Particularly, we encourage candidates with an interest in multi-disciplinary research and collaborations, and an ability to integrate digital tools like Adobe CC, AutoCAD, and 3D modelling softwares such as Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit. In addition to a strong background in architecture, applicants should also have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching in the design studio and in seminar and/or lecture/lab courses in their area(s) of expertise.

Institutional Background 
The Architecture Program is an academic unit within the School of Design and the College of Liberal Arts. The program offers a pre-professional B.S.inArchitectural Studies degree, and a NAAB-accredited professional Master of Architecture degree. The program is committed to providing a comprehensive and uncompromising, balanced and demanding education in the art, craft, and practice of ethical building through the polytechnic tradition of "hands-on" experiences and empirical learning that prepares an individual to be an architect in the fullest sense of the term.
