The Interior Architecture Design (IAD) program at Indiana State University invites candidates to apply for a position of Assistant/Associate Professor – 10-month, tenure track. The IAD program is housed in the College of Technology within the Department of Built Environment (BE). The department was established in 2010 and is the home of four undergraduate programs: Architectural Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Interior Architecture Design, and Safety Management, and the Occupational Safety Management MA/MS.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching in the area of (but not limited to) undergraduate studios in technical design/drawing and rendering (manual and digital), residential design (kitchen and bath), and healthcare design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and adobe creative suite programs are a must. He/she will actively contribute to continuing program development, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with students to promote curriculum in areas of interior and architectural design. This individual will teach related topics in an intensely active, outcomes-based learning environment in which innovative pedagogy, timely curriculum, creative assignments, and excellence in student work is paramount.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a terminal degree (MArch, M.I.Arch, M.I.D., M.F.A., or PhD) in architecture, interior architecture, interior design, or other closely related field. Candidates must be NCIDQ certified and have an education in interior design. Additionally, the candidate will have experience teaching design studios, professional experience in residential and commercial design, and membership in professional organizations.
