The College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for an architecture faculty position in the top-ranked School of Architecture and Interior (SAID) at the rank of tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor (rank/title commensurate with education and experience).

The core mission of the Architecture Program at the School of Architecture and Interior Design is to prepare students for critical engagement with practice. The program promotes leadership, collaboration, intellectual depth, flexibility, and teamwork. The foundation of architecture education at UC remains a liberal arts education, which provides a broad basis for understanding the role of architecture within a cultural and historical context; and a professional curriculum that is enriched with elective seminars, lectures and design studios that provide opportunities to engage in travel/study programs, experimental projects, and service-learning.

The School of Architecture and Interior Design (SAID) confers an accredited first professional graduate degree in Architecture (M Arch), an accredited professional degree in Interior Design (BSID), an undergraduate degree in Architecture (BS Arch), a post-professional degree (MS Arch) and Ph.D. degree in Architecture. 

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include both History and Theory lecture courses and seminars and Design studios at the undergraduate or graduate level. Candidates will be expected to integrate their research interests and/or creative work in teaching. Faculty responsibilities include research in the candidate’s area of expertise, graduate thesis advising, as well as service to the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Master’s level professional degree in architecture (M.Arch. or equivalent), and at least one academic year teaching experience in architecture design studios at the university level.
