Newcastle University is seeking to appoint a Professor of East Asian Architecture. We seek a world leading scholar with research expertise in East Asian architecture who will commit to building Newcastle’s presence and reputation in this research field, and territory. We see ourselves as a global School located in the UK, engaging with different modes of production and diverse cultures in architecture. You will help us expand our research and teaching to engage with East Asian contexts in greater depth and breadth, contributing to promoting our new and existing work globally. 

Architecture in Newcastle understands knowledge to be a collective cultural endeavour which is best realised through a dynamic approach to research and education, not imagining the discipline as a set of truths but instead as an ongoing process of inquiry in which staff and students are both participants. We are looking for a colleague who can make an important contribution to this collective endeavour.
