Opportunity: The College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) at Kent State University is seeking applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position as Assistant Professor or Lecturer in Construction Management. Candidates should have experience and/or expertise in building construction management highlighted by demonstrable teaching in such areas including, but not limited to: estimating, materials and methods, contracts and law, scheduling, and project management and/or construction courses at the graduate level.
Qualifications: A master’s degree is required. Preference will be given to those with degrees in construction management and/or construction engineering. A minimum of five (5) years of construction industry experience, focusing on construction management in the building industry.
Preferred Qualifications: University teaching experience, vertical (building) construction experience, and collaboration with design professionals.
The CAED is comprised of growing disciplines – with particular emphasis on expanding the Construction Management program. As an ACCE-accredited program, Construction Management educates leadership-oriented professionals prepared to work collaboratively with building designers and engineers. The program has over 250 students. There are currently four full-time and 10+ part-time faculty. The department website, http://www.kent.edu/CAED, contains a full description of the program.
Application Process: The position is a nine-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Lecturer. Salary is competitive and negotiable. The anticipated starting date is August 2019.
