The Department of Architecture seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to teach design and research studios as well as core or elective courses beginning in Fall 2019. The position includes responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  A Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field, or a PhD in Architecture or a related field is required (earned by the start date of the appointment).  Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate 1) exemplary design and/or research experience, which may include built work, theoretical explorations, scholarship, publications, extramural funding, or exhibitions 2) potential to teach design studio and related courses.

The Department of Architecture, in the School of Architecture & Urban Planning (SARUP) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, anticipates multiplefaculty openings in the upcoming years.  As Wisconsin's only accredited college of Architecture SARUPis at an exciting point of growth and development. Celebrating 45 years as a Center for Excellencein the UW system, the school continues to broaden its teaching capacities. SARUP is now home to two significant international design awards, the Marcus Prize and the Urban Edge Award. Both highlight SARUP’s commitment to Milwaukee and to urbanism by bringing international talent into studios. SARUP also offers a unique range of externally funded studios, building long-term relationships with regional industrial and institutional partners. In addition to many community-based projects, SARUP continues its history of global outreach through established and new programs overseas.  The Department of Architecture offers BSAS, M. Arch., M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs and faculty are encouraged to teach at all levels.  The doctoral program has broadened its emphases to include buildings-landscapes-cultures, environmental design research, and sustainability.
