The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture (SSA) at the City College of New York (CCNY) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, the academic and administrative leader of the school and its urban research and advocacy center, the J. Max Bond Center. The SSA seeks an inspirational leader, ambitious entrepreneur, and collegial partner who will articulate a clear vision for the school that translates into a sound operational plan, engages a critical, cogent, and imaginative pedagogy, and enhances the school's impressive diversity. Managing the current endowment and pursuing a vigorous development program to expand the school's resources to improve its finances and facilities will be central to the Dean's responsibilities. The Dean is responsible for strategic planning, enhancing research productivity, working with faculty to develop curriculum for all academic programs, budget development and management, and assessment. The Dean, an ambassador and educator, needs to use an array of media to articulate, promote and advocate for the SSA, and its mission, faculty, students, and staff. The Dean represents the SSA in CCNY and City University of New York and engages collaboratively with other deans in campus-wide initiatives and activities.

This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree and professional license in area(s) of expertise, PhD., or other appropriate qualifications
- A record of productive research and experience in teaching, administration, and practice in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, design, policy-making, or other related professional areas
- A clear vision for the future of SSA
- A deep commitment to the fundamental principles of public education
