The School of Architecture at Marywood University (MUSoA) invites applications for a renewable per-annum Instructor position beginning fall 2018.  We seek individuals with the ability to engage students in an iterative design process that engenders thoughtful, experimental, and tectonically sound architectural compositions.

As a professional school in a liberal arts university, our accredited architecture and interior architecture programs set a rigorous studio-based curriculum within an educational context that encourages critical inquiry into the built environment. Accordingly, candidates who hold an informed position on broad cultural, tactile and technological forces that act upon and constitute architectural environments, and those who draw productive critical connections between architecture and interiors will be favorably considered.

MUSoA seeks applicants with expertise in Digital Fabrication and Representation and who value design strategies in this area related to processes and procedures of digital fabrication, material agendas, and methods of construction/making.  Output of these processes, agendas and methods may include design-build projects, parametric modeling, and/or hybridizing technologies to merge manual craft with digital technology.

Per-annum Instructors teach 21 credits per year (typically two studios and three courses), and are expected to establish and engage in a teaching agenda and service to the School of Architecture, University and the broader community.

Required Qualifications: Master of Architecture, or post-professional graduate degree in architecture, or a terminal graduate degree in interior architecture/design or in an allied design discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the area ofDigital Fabrication and Representation as demonstrated by previous specialized teaching, practice, or advanced studies.
