The University of Minnesota’s School of Architecture invites applications for a three-year Professor-in-Practice contract position. This non-tenure-track contract faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank may be either one (100% or 75%) or two (50%) position(s) which may be renewable upon expiration of the initial three-year term; however, there is no guarantee of and currently no plan for renewal.

The successful candidate(s) will be interested in reimagining where the profession and construction industry are going and how architectural education needs to change accordingly. The Professor(s)-in-Practice may contribute to programs in the School of Architecture and make creative contributions to understanding the relationship between academic research and the practice community. We seek an experienced practitioner who can bring the rigors, economies, and innovations of practice, along with a critical, historically- and theoretically-informed eye to the design studio.

Qualifications include: M.Arch or B.Arch; architectural teaching experience; substantial and recognized experience in architectural practice; evidence of attention to cultural diversity in teaching, scholarship, and/or professional practice.
