DESCRIPTION                            
The Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Architecture (SoA) invites applications for the Ventulett NEXT Generation Visiting Fellowship position for the 2018-19 academic year. This is a two-year, full-time appointment beginning Fall 2018, with a review and evaluation after the first year. The NEXT Fellows is a new initiative in the SoA intended to attract candidates who are at the beginning of their careers and interested in interdisciplinary teaching and research that merges design, technology, and culture.

TITLE                                              
Ventulett NEXT Generation Visiting Fellow in Architecture

RESPONSIBILITIES                  
NEXT Fellows will be expected to teach design studios and/or seminars/workshops at both the undergraduate and graduate level and participate actively in the life of the School. The workshops can be used to assist the Fellow in his/her own directed research that will result in a public exhibition and lecture at the School. NEXT Fellows will be given an unparalleled opportunity to advance their own individual interests through teaching and design research utilizing the full resources of the College of Design including our Digital Fabrication & Robotics Laboratory that houses a suite of industrial-scale CNC equipment. There are numerous research initiatives at the College and Institute that Fellows can connect with, including Smart Cities, Eco-Urbanism, Urban Climate, GIS, and Evidence-based Design, among others. Fellows will be encouraged to conduct interdisciplinary work with faculty from other schools within the College of Design and across campus, including computing, engineering, and sciences, and will be given support in making these connections. Fellows will also have the opportunity to work with SoA research faculty and Ph.D. students on projects of common interest.

QUALIFICATIONS                    
Candidates must have a terminal degree of a Master of Architecture or greater.

SALARY                                         
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Each Fellow also receives a stipend to support research-related expenses.

SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE                        
 The School of Architecture is one of five schools in the College of Design. Other schools include Building Construction, City and Regional Planning, Industrial Design, and Music. The SoA offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Architecture, M.S. in Urban Design, along with specialized M.S. in Architecture degrees in Digital Design and Fabrication, High Performance Buildings, Design and Health, and Urban Design.
