School Membership

Colleges, universities, and community colleges around the world are invited to join ACSA in one of three membership levels described below. 

 

Full Members

Full Members of the ACSA are institutions in the United States or Canada that offer at least one architecture degree program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) in the US or the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB). ACSA currently has 128 full members: 116 in the United States, 11 in Canada, and 1 in the United Arab Emirates.
 
Architecture faculty at ACSA full member schools are de facto members of ACSA. Full-time faculty receive weekly ACSA Update emails and the Journal of Architectural Education, distributed by the ACSA Faculty Councilor.  Additionally, full member schools received detailed listings in ACSA's Guide to Architecture schools, and their faculty are eligible to submit for ACSA's international awards, conferences, and competitions and are eligible serve on committees and task forces. Full member schools participate in ACSA elections and vote on official business, and faculty at full member schools may serve on the board of directors.

2012-13 US Schools Annual Dues: $8,553 – $11,400 depending on faculty size and includes NAAB accreditation fees. 2012-13 Canadian Schools Annual Dues: $4,883

Candidate Members

Candidate Members are institutions in the United States or Canada that are actively pursuing accreditation by the NAAB or CACB for a professional degree program in architecture but do not yet have such accreditation. ACSA currently has 6 candidate members.

Architecture faculty at ACSA candidate member schools are de facto members of ACSA. Receiving the weekly ACSA Update email and the Journal of Architectural Education, distributed by the ACSA Faculty Councilor. Additionally, candidate member schools received detailed listings in ACSA's Guide to Architecture schools, and their faculty are eligible to submit for ACSA's international awards, conferences, and competitions and are eligible to serve on committees and task forces.

Affiliate Members

Affiliate Members of the ACSA are institutions that do not qualify for, or are not seeking, accreditation by NAAB or CACB. Such institutions include schools in countries other than the US and Canada, programs in landscape architecture or other fields related to architecture, and community colleges. There are currently over 50 affiliate members of ACSA in the United States and around the world.

Affiliate member schools receive one copy of the Journal of Architectural Education, delivered to the head administrator. Faculty at ACSA affiliate member programs are de facto members of ACSA, receiving the weekly ACSA Update email and access to the members only section of the ACSA website.In addition they can submit to papers to the ACSA conferences, participate in the ACSA competitions, and submit to a select number of ACSA awards.

2012-13 Annual Dues: Domestic: $321; International: $396.
