Description

The School of Architecture at Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates to fill tenure-track teaching position or positions at the assistant professor level beginning 1 September 2013 pending budgetary approval.  The primary teaching responsibilities will include instruction in upper-level undergraduate design studios.  Additional consideration will be given for the ability to teach support coursework in one or more of the following areas: building information modeling, architectural history/theory, urban design, architectural detailing, and interior design. Additional responsibilities will include serving on various School, College, and University committees. Candidates must have a terminal degree with a professional degree in architecture and demonstrate the potential for executing an agenda of research and/or creative work.  Previous teaching and professional practice experience are required and professional licensure is desirable.

The School of Architecture is an academic unit of the College of Liberal Arts.  The School of Architecture offers a pre-professional B.S. Architectural Studies degree, an NAAB accredited Master of Architecture degree, and a CIDA accredited Bachelor of Interior Design degree.  The School is committed to providing a comprehensive and uncompromising, balanced and demanding education in the art, craft and practice of ethical building through the polytechnic tradition of "hands-on" experiences and empirical learning that prepares an individual to be an architect in the fullest sense of the term.  The faculty of the School of Architecture is comprised of a collaborative, design-oriented faculty of 15 serving a student body of approximately 200.
